eMarketer focused on southern Europe as a source of growth in its recent report on the explosion of global e-commerce: predicting growth of 13.8% in 2014. In E-commerce Europe’s “Southern Europe B2C E-commerce Report 2013″ Spain tops these southern markets with annual revenue reaching €12,969 million in 2012. Given that e-commerce sales still represent only 1.2% of Spanish GDP it doesn’t take any clever calculations to realize the enormous potential that the Spanish market offers foreign etailers.

Even more so as, somewhat surprisingly for a country which is so large yet relatively immature in terms of e-commerce, cross-border purchases are already a significant part of consumer habits and account for 56.5% of online transactions.
