Optimising Coffee Delivery: Kaffekapslen's New Approach for Belgium
Belgian coffee lovers can now enjoy their favourite coffee from Kaffekapslen much faster, thanks to Landmark Global, the new logistics partner for the market. We reached out to Brian Redmond-Dam, Head of Logistics and Supply Chain at Kaffekapslen, to ask how delivery has evolved with this new partnership.
Today, millions of coffee lovers across 22 European countries can order coffee online from Kaffekapslen at the click of a button.. Quite an accomplishment, considering they started out in 2011 in Denmark with just a handful of staff and a small storage room.
Swift delivery of people’s preferred coffee pods and capsules is key to ensuring satisfied and returning customers. That’s why Kaffekapslen is always looking to optimise shipping lanes wherever possible. We spoke with Brian Redmond-Dam, about why they switched to Landmark Global for their Belgian Shipping lane.
How did you deliver your products to Belgian customers before?
Belgian customers were initially served via a shipping hub in the Netherlands, explains Brian. This wasn’t an optimal solution, as deliveries took longer and were more expensive than what our competitors offered. That’s why we turned to the market for a better solution. For Landmark Global, Belgium is a home market, enabling them to guarantee faster and more affordable deliveries to our Belgian customers through theircentral distribution hub in Brussels.

How did the onboarding and transition to this new solution for the Belgian route go?
Things went quite smoothly – in fact, more smoothly than in many previous implementations we’ve done. We successfully integrated the new route into our software platform.. One particularly positive aspect was the easy, professional communication with the Landmark Global team; they were readily available and responded quickly.
Being from Denmark, we appreciate what we call a ‘Nordic standard’ when doing business. Commitments made are commitments kept, and it’s reassuring to see that Landmark Global shares this mindset, especially as we've had varied experiences with other suppliers.
Has the faster lane to Belgium impacted your sales results for the Belgian market?
“It’s not easy to measure what precisely impacts sales, as we improve our service and expand our offering constantly as well, but we do observe an increase in sales results for the Belgian market, so this could also be a result of working with Landmark Global’s cheaper and faster solution.”
How about Landmark Global’s flexible delivery options for Belgian customers?
Landmark Global also offers e-retailers the option to provide end customers with more than one delivery method through their PUDO service. This allows online customers to choose delivery to a preferred pick-up point, on top of the standard home delivery. “Kaffekapslen has not yet integrated this option in its delivery offerings, but we might look into this feature in the future.”
