PB Shop was founded in 2000 as a wholesaler offering the largest catalogue of titles around the world. Strong sales efforts in the US led, among other achievements, to their position as the first UK marketplace seller on Amazon.com. After successfully exploring the Mexican market, PB Shop and Landmark Global collaborated to develop an optimised, efficient logistics solution. This ensures competitive service levels for Mexican-based customers. We asked PB Shop CEO Caroline Summers about how the business managed to successfully achieve this.

Can you share a little more about accessing Mexico as a key regional priority

As a successful international online player, offering speed, competitive pricing, and top tier customer service are essential requirements for logistical partners. That is why we have been working with Landmark Global for years. Our Account Manager approached us in Q3 2023 with a DDP, fully tracked, fast paced delivery solution. Mexico is not a straightforward destination to ship products to from the UK, as there are tax and customs duties that may delay shipments, and the recipient may incur additional costs before being able to receive a parcel. All things that can get in the way of good customer experience, which is something we absolutely want avoid at all costs.

Landmark Global not only provides logistical solutions for the main international routes, but they also work with you to identify solutions to access new markets. They are a very key partner for us and we value their insight and market knowledge.

Caroline Summers, CEO PB Shop

How were you able to ensure smooth shipping into Mexico?

We explained our challenge to our Landmark Global account manager. They have a lot of experience with cross-border shipments, including managing administrative issues and customs fees involved. They worked out a proposal where everyone wins. Customers order and pay an 'all-in' cost with no surprises upon receipt. Their shipping route is faster than the postal route, and as sales in Mexico started to boom, since we opened the lane with Landmark Global, we have successfully delivered over 6,500 orders to Mexico. PB Shop and Landmark Global have worked together to develop this lane and when we raised a need to further reduce transit times with them, they increased the number of direct flights without a problem. The result is a seamless service that benefits everyone. The road is open to grow, and attract new business, even further in Mexico.
