There is often a false assumption to consider the Nordic countries as one unit. This is most definitely not the case and that is the reason why, following on from Sweden, this month we are focusing on Norway.

Norway occupies first place on the Scandinavian podium, having generated 8.9 billion euros of e-commerce revenue in 2013. And for e-tailers wishing to take on the Nordic countries, Norway could well become their priority. Proportionally speaking, Norwegians shop the most on foreign sites out of everyone in Europe with almost half of their population — 46% of them — taking part in international e-commerce.

In addition, Forrester placed Norway among its top 10 markets with the greatest e-commerce potential.
