Like most developed countries, France has widespread internet penetration. Currently, more than 86% of the French population actively uses the internet. Additionally, mobile connections outpaced total population by about 140,000 in 2016. Such high access to digital technology will likely expand the French B2C e-tail market, which is already one of the biggest in Europe and the world.
The French E-Commerce Trade Association projects e-commerce to exceed €81 billion ($86 billion) before the end of 2017. Further- more, economists believe by then the number of e-commerce vendors available to internet- and mobile-connected shoppers in France will grow to 200,000, giving the country more ways than ever to buy online.
