With a surface area of over 7 million square kilometres and 23 million inhabitants, Australia is an extremely atypical country. Australia ranks 7th among the countries in Emarketer’s 2013 classification of e-commerce sales and, with an average shopping basket of almost €95 (per order), Australians generally spend more than other e-shoppers.
And its logistics infrastructure isn’t lagging behind either, as its ranks 16th in the World Bank’s “logistics performance index”.
